Finder411's Inaugural "Show Some Love" Contest

What is it?

US residents in the 50 United States and DC 18 years of age or older nominate a favorite small local North Carolina business up to one time per day between February 6th, 2013 - March 12, 2013 at 5pm ET for a shot at winning a new Apple iPad mini. 1 lucky person will win the new iPad mini for nominating their favorite small local business (including if you nominate your own business). Prize announcement date will take place no later than March 31, 2013 - but may happen sooner.

How To Enter:

Use our online submission form to:

1. Share the name and location of your favorite small local North Carolina business. You can nominate the same independent business every day or spread the love and nominate multiple businesses throughout the submission process. Picture sharing is encouraged!

What Happens Next: (Small Business Finalists)

Between March 12 and the 19th - 7 small local North Carolina businesses will be selected based on the number of nominations received for their respective category. (qualifying categories below). Should there be ties in any or all of each of the categories, the top small businesses will be rated in 3 areas (outlined in the rules) by a panel of independent judges, then given scores to determine which become finalists and move into the voting round. Each of the 7 business finalists will receive a one year Finder411 premium subscription valued at approximately $250.

What Happens Next: (Voting Period)

Beginning on March 19th, 2013 at 9am - online voting among the 7 small business finalists at Finder411's Facebook page will begin through April 2nd, 2013 at 11 pm ET. People can vote multiple times throughout the voting period, but only 1 vote per device or computer will be allowed daily.

The NC small local business with the most votes at this time will be crowned the grand prize winner and named Finder411's First Favorite Small Local Business and receive a Lifetime* (defined as 25 Years for contest purposes: see rules section for details), Finder411 premium membership, including a professional business photoshoot.
A public press release will be issued announcing Finder411’s Lifetime member no later than April 15th, 2013.

This will be an annual contest, adding a new small business to our “lifetime” roster each year.

Example Qualifying business types include:

1. Home Related - independent real estate firms, custom blinds, interior designer, plumber, landscaper, and related.
2. Agribusiness - wineries, breweries, food farms, orchards, tree farms, B&B’s or similar.
3. Restaurants & Eateries- no franchises or chains
4. Retail stores - must be independent - can have more than 1 specific location.
5. Personal Care (hair, skin, body) - no tanning salons
6. Professional services - law, accounting, photography, music bands/DJ’s, event planning, catering, pet sitters, vets.
7. Health related - physical fitness (no big box gyms), adventure (rock climbing, kayaking & similar), dentist, optometrist, chiropractor, etc.

Contest Rules:

Entry:

1. No purchase necessary. One email entry per person per day.
You must be eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry to be eligible for this Contest. To enter provide your full name, email address, name of a qualifying North Carolina small local business and their city location. Upload of a photo is optional but encouraged. All submissions must contain complete information as requested or will not be accepted as valid entries.

2. Entrants can enter with the same email only one time per day, each day, during the submission process. They can nominate a different NC small local business with each submission or nominate the same business once each day during the submission period.

3. Submission shall be deemed an assignment of all copyrights in the material and “general use” permission including the right of Finder411 to use the submission on its web site and for promoting its services to others. Finder411 may also allow others to use the materials for noncommercial purposes. Finder411 will provide appropriate attribution to the creator(s). Finder411 shall not restrict entrant from using the submission for its own purposes.

Eligibility:

1. To enter and be eligible to win the iPad mini you must be a legal resident of the 50 United States, or Washington, DC, be 18 years of age or older at time of entry and have a valid email address.

2. Eligible nominated businesses are small, locally owned businesses based within North Carolina. No franchises, direct marketing companies or Internet-exclusive based businesses are eligible. For contest purposes, Finder411 classifies "small" as having 100 employees or less. Business must have been in operation for 6 months or longer, must have generated revenue in 2012, must have a company name (which can also be a person's name), a telephone number and valid email address.

3. Finder411 employees or family members and contest judges are not eligible to enter this contest.

Awards:

1. The winner of the ipad mini will be generated via the random number generator software program. Winners will be notified by email no later than March 31, 2013. Winners must respond within 5 days or the prize will be forfeited.

2. 7 North Carolina small businesses, one from each of the following categories, will be selected as finalists based on number of nominations received. Each will receive a 1 year subscription as a Finder411 premium member, currently valued at $249. Subscriptions will begin on a day to be determined by Finder411, LLC based on official product launch date and will take place no later than July 1, 2013. Once the year is complete, winners may opt to continue as a premium member but will pay the existing premium price publically advertised (or a special rate if Finder411 is offering one), and understands this may or may not be higher than $249.

a. Home Related: real estate, plumbers, landscaping, interior designers & similar.
b. Agribusiness: wineries, farms, breweries, orchards, B&B's & similar.
c. Eateries: restaurants, food trucks - or anything in between.
d. Retail stores: consignment, boutique, etc. - anything independent.
e. Personal care: Hair, skin or body care. (no tanning salons)
f. Professional services: Law, accounting, photography, pet services, events, etc.
g: Health-related: Physical fitness, dentists, optometrists, chiropractors & similar.

Should multiple businesses receive an equally high number of nominations and there is a tie, the "Show some Love" independent judging panel will provide a score of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest in each of the following areas: effective use of social media, uniqueness of logo/brand & ongoing or past community involvement programs. Judges scores will be combined and averaged to determine the finalists. If a small business finalist does not wish to move into the voting round, the business with the next highest number of nominations within that category will be notified as a finalist and move into the final voting round.

3. The grand prize winner of a lifetime premium Finder411 business subscription will be determined by a voting round to take place exclusively through Finder411’s Facebook page.

a. For contest purposes, "lifetime" is determined as twenty-five years from the date the subscription commences.
b. A binding contract will be executed upon Finder411 launch and membership commencement.
c. This membership will be transferable in the event the winning North Carolina small business is sold to new ownership. New ownership qualifies as a "small business" under the provisions of paragraph 2 of the eligibility section.

d. If lifetime business subscriber at any point during the "lifetime" becomes disqualified as a small business based on Finder411's sole discretion criteria, Finder411 does reserve the right to revoke said lifetime subscription and remove business from the platform.

e. The subscription may be terminated in the sole discretion of Finder411 or its successor in interest upon the occurrence of the following:

i. A sale of a majority of the Membership Interest in Finder411, LLC or a sale of substantially all of the assets of Finder 411, LLC to a third party.

ii. Finder 411, LLC or its successor in interest ceasing to conduct active business operations.

CONDUCT:

Finder411 reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of this Contest or website; violates the Official Rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE FINDER411 RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:

Finder411 is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest. Finder411 assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or authorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Finder411 is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond the control of Finder411 which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Finder411 reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.

Privacy policy :

Personal information obtained by Finder411 is not sold or released to others and will be used solely for the purposes of the contest and ongoing communications about Finder411 offerings.

Names and photos of winning individuals and organizations may be included in contest publicity.
